Wellbeing Workshops

Over the past year we have been working with local community partners to provide creative workshops to young people facing adverse challenges.

We have been working with Bromley and Croydon Women’s Aid, supporting their young mothers with confidence boosting sessions that allow them to make friends and relax, gaining respite from their everyday lives. This has been particularly key where in recent times they faced the dual isolation of lockdown restrictions plus they may have been separated from friends or family or may have experienced domestic violence.

These sessions were invaluable in improving the wellbeing of the residents of the refuge and our facilitator was delighted that by the end of the first session “they were joking that they were going to go to the gym together and I saw them walking home together with their children”.

We also worked with their young children, delivering our Leap! holiday workshops in summer. In 2021 the children, who were aged between 3 and 9 produced a talent show, showed off their gymnastics skills and presented their interpretation of Cinderella to their mothers and new friends.

In summer 2022 we gave a taster workshop to the members of Inner Strength Network a local Merton organisation supporting women and girls and their families to overcome difficult moments in their lives. Through our creative workshops we supported the young female members to develop key leadership skills, grow in competence and independence and boost their confidence when speaking in front of, and interacting with others.
