Attic is an arts organisation based in Mitcham, South London. Our mission is to make excellent live theatre and creative workshops accessible to all in the borough Merton and further afield from our office above Mitcham Library.
We do two things:
- Commission and produce new theatre. We work with leading artists and a variety of partners to make relevant and high quality work which tours to lots of different locations. You’re as likely to see us in a library or park as a theatre or arts centre.
- Develop and deliver a vibrant and varied participatory programme, centred in our borough of Merton. We focus on working with young people and older people and run weekly workshops as well as one off summer schools and short courses with a whole host of incredible partners including local schools, the Mitcham Dementia Hub, Mitcham Town Community Trust, Green Arts Centre, Jigsaw 4U, Learn English Together Merton and the Sherwood School. In the surrounding areas we work with Sutton & District Training, CARAS (Community Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers) in Tooting and Bromley & Croydon Women’s Aid.
We are a registered charity and are grateful for the ongoing support of Merton Council and project funding from Arts Council England, The Jack Petchey Foundation and The Wimbledon Foundation amongst others.
